Support and Benefit from this Workforce Initiative

Oxford Works is operating with the support and consent of the Cincinnati Works Program, which has been serving low-income residents of Cincinnati for nearly twenty years. Cincinnati Works aims to eliminate poverty by supporting its members in job acquisition and retention, while working to serve the needs of local employers. The impact of the program on the workforce is demonstrated by lower rates of staff turnover among members of Cincinnati Works in comparison to non-members.

Oxford Works has adopted a similar model to meet the needs of job seekers and employers in the Talawanda School District. Oxford Works members commit to a minimum of “one job for one year” with an understanding that an employer’s bottom line is impacted by their ability to be trained and to become productive. Oxford Works members commit to:
  • Being drug-tested
  • Attending a 30 hour job readiness workshop
  • Maintaining a coaching relationship with Oxford Works staff after obtaining employment

Your company can become involved in the Oxford Works initiative in the following ways:

  • Consider qualified members of the Oxford Works program for employment
  • Provide feedback about members that become employed with your company
  • Volunteer your professional expertise to participants in job readiness training
  • Inform Oxford Works staff about job opportunities with your company
