Internship Opportunities

Family Science Internships

The Family Resource Center offers an excellent setting for Family Science majors and minors to hone their interpersonal skills and get experience working with a diverse client population. Typical internships involve a schedule of 8-9 hours per week during business hours. Training will be provided on desk duties, local social service resources, and on client interviewing techniques.

 

Social Work Internships

The Family Resource Center offers a unique experience to social work majors who want to explore non-profit work and learn about micro, mezzo, and macro level resources being employed with low-income clients in the promotion of self-sufficiency. Typical internships involve 20 hours per week during business hours, Social Work interns will learn receptionist and client intake assistant duties, and will be given the opportunity to work on specific aspects of agency business as schedules, interests, and abilities allow (e.g. grant writing, social media, data reporting and analysis, surveying, and outreach).
